I called Precision on the weekend because they were the only ones open and I wanted a Monday appointment. The service tech arrived at the scheduled time and after looking over the situation (the cable had come off the pully) he said he would perform a 25 point inspection and the give me the options for repair. A red flag immediately went up in my mind but I said ok. After the inspection he quoted me 3 options ranging from $700 to $2100+. I told him I would like to get a second opinion. I called a local company who came by, reinstalled the cable, adjusted the tension on the overhead spring, lubed the spring and wheels in the track and thanked me for the business. $146. He did not try to sell me a bunch of replacement parts and labor I did not need. I will not be refering your company to any friends or family.

Response time was very prompt, about 2 1/2 hours. Had trouble with the automatic door closing and tech. Justin did a dialysis and found I needed new springs and cables. After new install everything worked fine. Would recommend this company.

Although I frequently see advertisements, the recommendation from a previous customer was my main reason for choosing Precision. However, claims in advertising were met. Horrible experience! I felt like a highly trained sales person who also happens to know how to work on garage doors came to my house. The torsion spring broke and I just was looking for a good price and a good repair. The torsion spring lasted almost a decade which I’m fine with and we use it a lot so it’s not surprising after almost 10 years. We’re having an issue. Technician came out, evaluated the situation. Next thing I know I’m sitting at my morning room table with him across from me like I’m talking about refinancing my house and we’re going over these absorbent prices. One price just for repairs three times as expensive as what it should be. One price for repairs and for him to do some minor lubrication and now we’re up from $750 for the repair which another company did about an hour later $456. Then he’s giving me a second price which would include a whisper, quiet motor that’s belt driven. I bulk at the prices and say I’m not really comfortable with this and then the prices start to change and come down and we start going down from top of the line to builders grade and then he goes to his van to make a phone call to the powers that be quite frankly I felt like I was buying a new car and they’re pulling that let me speak to my manager shit. Bottom line my wife got fed up, walked out to the van and told him to keep driving. So I guess basically I would describe my experience as suspicious, unbelievably pricey, and like they never really had my best interest at him more interested in padding the bill. PS a lot of scare tactics were used, and as it turns out he was wrong on at least one of the tactics telling me that my builders grade tension spring was put in unprofessionally by someone that didn’t want to waste a few extra dollars on a metal ball bearing, and as it turns out after me doing research that same spring never came with a metal ball bearing it came with a plastic ball bearing. Always buy local! If you have somebody that you can trust in somebody that has a fair price then you’ve got everything!!
